Cosmetics claims

Regulation EC 655/2013 applies to claims in the form of texts, names, trademarks, pictures and figurative or other signs that convey explicitly or implicitly product characteristics or functions in the labelling, the making available on the market and advertising of cosmetic product

Cosmetics claims example

There are 2 types of the products: cosmetic products and pharmaceutical products. There is no cosmeceuticals in the EU
Claims “anti-cellulite” and “anti-acne” should not be used because these formulations can be attributed only to pharmaceutical products
Claim “Preservative free” should not be used if the product contains substances with autopreservative properties, e. g. Caprylyl Glycol
